FROM WALLPAPER TO DECOR PAPER

The Wallpaper shop (Wallcandy) I got my wallpaper from were very helpful and had some very inspiring ideas. I wanted to share some of their ideas like the cabinet above with matching infill panels to the wall. Can I just point out how cute and kitsch the hats and time clock are.
The wardrobe below
is so cute with the heels paper perfect for any shoe loving girl.
It goes to show wallpaper isn't just for your walls.....
Love the drum pendant shade in your choice of internal or external paper
How about some ceiling panels with your downlights.
Just some other bits and pieces they had on offer.
How cool are these old timber theatre seats
Just need to find the right place.
How about this stunning bookcase makeover.
Instead of a painting your door infill panles how about some paper.

If you don't have the patience to paper an entire piece of furniture you could buy these little pieces from Porter Furniture.

Would you paper anything other than your walls?

COSY

I have just had my new heating installed and I am finally warm. We have just finished another day in our long cold snap and I am hoping this post finds you all keeping warm and cosy.
I am rearching the best fireplace to consider for some new clients and having found so many ideas to choose from I thought I would share some of my faves....
Keep warm and cosy.
Inserts are Versatile and Stylish and can be used to create ambiance in any given space.

A mantle around your fireplace will take the space from being, not just for warmth but for adding your style to.
An outdoor fireplace will help you utilise your outdoor area for longer in the evenings and also keep bugs away on those balmy evenings...and not to mention it will add value to your home.

Nothing like a natural stone fireplace surround to add a rustic touch and a feeling of nature inside.

A tiled fireplace surround will also add a certain style to your dedicated space.
There are so many options, which one do you like for your home.

THE 5TH WALL

The ceiling is a surface of a room that receives the least amount of light from the outside (even if it has small windows) and generally gets treated to white paint. This also makes the ceilings appear high and the room feel bright. But this should not always be taken literally and can be varied with a variety of colors and textures, just like on the walls. With a dark ceiling and light walls you will create the opposite effect described above, and “lower the ceiling” or simply add warmth to a very cool room.
But as you will see below its all about making it work for you in your home.
Sometimes rules are meant to be broken.

The photo above shows just the cornices painted, but if your game.
You could paint the ceiling

Even Miley has done it...(her dressing room)

Fabric
Vaulted ceilings

Or just don't stop and paint the whole room .
I've got you thinking now, haven't I.

FEATURING, YOUR WALLS...

This seems to be the latest topic of conversation..
Are feature walls in or are they out?
Well I think its completely subjective.
It seems feature rooms have become more popular than the feature wall but you can't escape that some homes and rooms, only need a dash of colour or just a small highlight.
So we could argue that painted feature walls are out but stone clad, wood panelled or wallpapered is in.
I have to say in all honesty does that not mean those walls have become "featured" so feature walls are still in......
....and to me that means paint is one of those Elements.
If you only feel comfortable with paint and you only have 1 or 2 spots to decorate then that is not wrong as your feature wall. I will say however there are right and wrong ways of adding feature walls into your home.
So  a few rights to think of...Consider your base or flow colour 1st now what colour do you feel will add a touch of personality to your home.
If its green go for something that sits well against your flow colour.....and stick with the greens if your going to add this feature to more than 1 room.
Now saying all that there are alot of alternatives to paint for feature walls...although a little more expensive than paint they are still a wonderful way of adding personality and a touch of design to your space.

A painted feature wall thanks to a local cafe

a painted feature wall over a fireplace thanks to Decor Pad
Some wood panel walls...apartment therapy

Upholstered walls...diamond tufted.

Beautiful Wallpaper...thanks I will take 1 of those.
Double Opulance...painted and wallpapered

Maybe your not ready for a full wall how about covering a canvas and hanging it.

Stone walls
Or stone cladding

Now this is the part where I would usually say there are some that I wouldn't do and that are wrong or no longer the trend forward, but that would be subjective wouldn't it.
